Participatory Techniques Limited offers facilitation, research/ consultancy, and training, using the Technology of Participation (ToP™) approach.
The participatory approaches that underpin all services we offer are designed to enable the creative and effective input of all those involved, enabling development of robust and realistic strategies and solutions that have full ownership and commitment.
Facilitation
We provide independent, professional facilitation for conferences, strategic planning events, stakeholder consultation, team building, workshops and public meetings.
Research/Consultancy
Our research methods are firmly grounded in participatory processes, enabling those affected to be involved in a research project or investigation. We can apply these social research processes to ensure that all voices are heard, and to help organisations better tailor their services to their client group. Examples of how this can be applied include needs analysis and impact assessment, public engagement and consultation, effective extension and adult learning projects, development of tailored communications, resources training or other service programmes and participatory evaluation.
Facilitation Training
Participatory Techniques Limited offers facilitation and participatory leadership training in the ToP™ methods, a proven set of group facilitation and leadership methods used in more than 30 countries world-wide. Clients that wish to, can gain formal qualifications by completing a Graduate Diploma of Facilitative Leadership under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
We offer training throughout New Zealand both as publicly scheduled courses, and as tailored in-house courses for our clients.
Group process facilitation and participatory leadership skills enhance individual and team effectiveness. They have application in any sector, including government, companies, educational institutions, industry and non-government organisations, and community groups.
Our training is highly interactive, thorough, and enjoyable, and incorporates experiential learning techniques.
Community Engagement and Public Consultation Training
The training we offer includes planning for public consultation and community engagement, stakeholder identification, practical project management and strategic planning, interpersonal communication skills and an introduction to group facilitation for consultation and engagement purposes.
We also cover legal obligations and the principles underpinning effective public consultation, including working with tangata whenua.
Tailored Training Solutions
Our tailored training solutions include needs analysis and tailoring of course structure and materials to suit specific client needs.
Course evaluation and client debriefing is a core part of all of our service delivery.
